Disclosure & Access to Information

1. Overview

Ubuntu Institute for Executive Education (UIEE), operating under Afri Resources Pty Limited (Reg. No. 1461/2016), is committed to transparency and accountability. This Disclosure & Access to Information Policy explains what information we make publicly available, what records may be requested, and the procedure for submitting a formal access-to-information request.

This policy applies to all UIEE operations across South Africa, Eswatini, Kenya, Nigeria, and all other markets where we deliver programmes. Where local legislation differs, the more stringent standard applies.

2. Information Automatically Available

The following categories of information are published on this website and are available without requiring a formal PAIA request:

• Programme catalogue — all 37 programmes with pricing, duration, format, and learning outcomes
• Faculty credentials — verified CVs for 16 of 18 named faculty members
• Training calendar — 135 scheduled sessions across 5 quarters (Oct 2026 – Dec 2027)
• Accreditation status — SETA, FASSET, EC-Council, and ICF credentials
• Partner organisations — strategic partners, academic partners, and clients
• Annual reports — summary of programme delivery, delegate numbers, and financial highlights
• Compliance certificates — BB-BEE certificate, tax clearance, and company registration

3. Information Available on Request

The following records may be requested via a formal PAIA request (Section 53):

• Accreditation audit reports — detailed SETA/FASSET compliance documentation
• Faculty qualifications verification — third-party credential verification letters
• Programme assessment records — assessment methodology and NQF alignment
• Delegate completion statistics — aggregate pass rates and completion metrics
• Procurement records — vendor contracts above R 100,000
• Environmental & social impact — sustainability reporting

Records containing third-party confidential information, trade secrets, or personal information protected under POPIA will be subject to Section 63 (mandatory protection of third-party information) and Section 70 (mandatory protection of personal information) of PAIA.

4. How to Submit a PAIA Request

A formal PAIA request must:

1. Be submitted on the prescribed PAIA request form (available at justice.gov.za/inforeg)
2. Be addressed to the Information Officer (see §7 below)
3. Sufficiently describe the record requested
4. Indicate the form of access required (inspection, copy, transcript)
5. Include the request fee of R 130.00 (as prescribed)
6. Provide the requester's contact details and postal address

Requests may be submitted by email, post, or hand delivery to the Information Officer. The statutory response period is 30 calendar days from receipt of the request. An extension of 30 days may be applied in terms of Section 57.

5. POPIA Compliance

In terms of the Protection of Personal Information Act (Act 4 of 2013), UIEE:

• Processes personal information lawfully and for defined purposes only (enrolment, admissions, programme delivery)
• Retains personal information for the minimum period required by law (tax records: 5 years; student records: 10 years)
• Does not transfer personal information to third parties without consent, except as required by law
• Maintains appropriate technical and organisational security measures (encrypted storage, access controls, audit trails)
• Provides data subjects with the right to access, correct, or delete their personal information
• Has appointed an Information Officer to handle PAIA and POPIA requests

6. Fees

The following fees apply to PAIA requests, as prescribed by the Minister of Justice:

A deposit of one-third of the total access fee may be required for requests exceeding 50 pages or 6 hours of search time.

8. Internal Appeals

If a PAIA request is refused, the requester may lodge an internal appeal with the Chief Executive Officer within 60 days of being notified of the refusal. If the internal appeal is unsuccessful, the requester may approach the Information Regulator or the courts.

9. Voluntary Disclosure

UIEE voluntarily discloses the following information beyond what is legally required:

• Faculty-to-delegate ratios (target: 1:8 for executive programmes, 1:15 for masterclasses)
• Delegate satisfaction scores (NPS — published quarterly in the resources section)
• Annual programme delivery count (currently 135 sessions across 5 quarters)
• Geographic distribution of delegates (currently 12 African countries represented)
• Financial assistance and scholarship allocation (R 1.2M awarded annually)

10. Policy Review

This Disclosure & Access to Information Policy is reviewed annually and updated to reflect changes in legislation, organisational structure, or operational practices. The latest revision date is shown below.
